Frequently Asked Questions

Method Hockey

What is Method Hockey?

Method Hockey is a state of the art training center built to improve all athletes. It is based upon the methods learned by former NHL player Jamie Lundmark during his playing years

How should my child use Method Hockey?

In season, come 30 minutes before or after practice and work on the skills that you can’t do in a team setting. Come one other time per week with your team or come as much as you like. Weekends will mostly be focused on fun things for the kids to do in the center. Your kids will love to come and play 3 v 3 on our synthetic rink or have shooting games/tournaments on the weekends. In the offseason, we will create a program to fit around your schedule and help your player improve their skills to be ready for the season.

Is Method Hockey the only group that can offer Lessons at Ice Line?

Yes. Method Hockey is the exclusive provider of all on and off ice training at ice line. No other trainers will be permitted to train players at Ice Line unless they are affiliated with Method Hockey.

What’s special about the gym?

Max Out equipment is the latest state of the art equipment which will be used to make your athletes stronger and has shown to significantly reduce injury. In addition, players will receive points based upon keeping their heart rate up (and within a healthy range) in the gym, competing against each other and themselves to improve performance. Our players will have the opportunity to join a group strength training session for their age group, take a gym class such as speed and agility, a power skating class to work on the muscles that make you go fast or book an individual personal training session.

What Coaches are available?

Our staff coaches are Jamie Lundmark, Chris Campanale, Jean O’Neil, Austin White, Stephen Notebaert, Fran Mackin and Chris Baer. We also have a number of coaches that work part-time in our facility.

Yes. It will be offered as a lesson in the gym and you can book one of our trainers to work with you one on one.

What happens on the Hockey side of the center?

When you sign up for a session, your child will wear a heart rate monitor on their arm. They will receive points for fun exercises that they perform while competing with their friends in the gym. They can then move to a stick handling station which will feel like an interactive video game that will track points for moving the puck with accuracy and speed. The Rapid Hands machine will have your players competing against each other for the top score. Next they can move to our synthetic hockey rink. A smaller version of a full size rink, the player will play fun games designed to use USA Hockey’s model of working in tighter spaces to become a more efficient player. They will play games and work on skill on the synthetic rink. They can do shooting lessons as well on the synthetic surface. They will be dying to play 3 v 3 on the small rink. Next your player can move to the Rapid Shot. This is another interactive game that your player will score points based upon shot speed, release speed, accuracy and more. If your player likes to play video games at home, he/she will love the feel of our hockey playground. Best of all, they will be receiving expert skill, knowledge and pointers from our professional coaching staff.

Memberships

Our training methods, equipment and programs are entirely unique to our gym. Most of the training done for hockey players will incorporate exercises with hockey equipment and in the gym during the same session. You may cancel at any time with 60 days notice.
